West Lancashire iCan! following Mentoring Programme
Over 60 pupils in West Lancashire have completed an 8 week mentoring programme to help them map out their future.
Pupils from Our Lady Queen of Peace and Lathom High School in Skelmersdale worked closely with Future U Student Ambassadors to create a ‘golden ticket’ for their future. The iCan aspiration raising mentoring programme allows pupils to explore their strengths, interests and ambitions through a series of interactive sessions facilitated by undergraduate Student Ambassadors from Future U partner universities. The programme runs over eight weeks and is made up of six sections; Think it; See it; Feel it; Touch it; Be it; Do it.
One pupil said, ‘I enjoyed all of the information I got to guide me in the future. It was very helpful and set me on the correct path.’
More pupils are to engage in the programme in the new academic year.
