Apprenticeships & Traineeships
Apprenticeships and traineeships are programmes designed to assist young people in getting into their desired field of work by providing them with the skills and knowledge needed for a particular job or trade.
These programmes usually require you to undertake ‘on the job’ training and ‘off the job’ learning. They may also allow you to earn money whilst you are training.
Although they are very similar, there are slight differences between apprenticeships and traineeships. We have provided further information on each of these programmes below, as well as useful links to gain a better idea about whether an apprenticeship or traineeship is right for you.
Traineeships
Traineeships are programmes that provide individuals with the skills, knowledge and experience to gain access to apprenticeships or jobs. They also offer support in Maths and English skills which are needed to start an apprenticeship.
These programmes usually last between six weeks and six months, and focus on a specific area you want to start an apprenticeship or career in.
