About Future U

Future U is a collaborative project bringing together universities, colleges, schools and businesses from across Lancashire. Future U is all about empowering young people with the knowledge and opportunities to succeed, with the aim of overcoming barriers to progression by offering an engaging programme of events and outreach activities.

Future U is part of the National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP) which supports young people to progress into Higher Education (HE) in areas where it has been identified HE participation of young people is much lower than expected.

Future U is committed to this goal and has links with local HE and FE providers across the county as well as community networks. We have developed an programme of engaging outreach activities and events to help young people gain sustainable skills which will lead to progression, employment and drive prosperity; something which is key to Lancashire’s future.

If you are a teacher or parent and would like to find out if your students are eligible to join the programme please email futureuadmin@uclan.ac.uk for more information.

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is the lead institution for the project and the Future U Project Team are primarily based here. Future U is governed by a Steering Group made up of senior colleagues from various partner institutions. Their work is supported by a Delivery Group whose members include representation from all Future U partners.
