Identified by the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership (LEP) as one of the six “Pillars of Growth”, this session highlights the importance of the Food and Agriculture industries in Lancashire and the potential for successful and varied careers with them.

School Staff

Students will discover the 5 stages of food production and investigate local supply chains. Modelled on Lancashire’s hundreds of successful independent food brands, students will work in groups on a “Dragons Den” style task to create a hypothetical new food product which will require them to develop the branding, a marketing strategy and a 2-minute pitch to potential investors.

Finally, learners will discover potential career opportunities and education routes through Further Education, Higher Education and Apprenticeships towards a successful career in this industry.
