Identified by the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership (LEP) as one of the six “Pillars of Growth”, this session highlights the importance of the Tourism, Culture and Place sector in Lancashire and the potential for successful, varied careers within.

School Staff

Students will discover how the sector is changing to meet the needs of the green economy, they will learn about the potential positive impact of a largescale catalyst project on small scale ventures within the region. Students will then develop the early steps in a creative project brief, role-playing as events managers working on the opening ceremony of the Eden North Project. A catalyst project with planning permission agreed to develop the Morecombe Bay area.

Learners will work in groups, utilise ideation strategies, supporting the creation of a mind map suitable for presentation to and discussion with the whole class.

Finally, learners will discover potential career opportunities and education routes through Further Education, Higher Education and Apprenticeships towards a successful career in this industry.
