Pillars of Growth: ‘In-a-box’-Activities

The Lancashire Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has identified six industries as ‘Pillars of Growth’ in the county, where the local jobs of the future will be. These industries include Advanced Manufacturing, Digital, Energy & Low Carbon, Food & Agriculture, Health and Tourism, culture & Place.

Future U has developed a series of in-a-box activities to help pre-16 learners find out more about these industries and identify potential career opportunities. These activities also allow each school to reach the desired Gatsby benchmarks by offering quality information about future career and labour market options. It also links curriculum learning with careers.

Future U has prepared 30 activity boxes to be delivered to schools. All activity boxes are free of cost, and each comes with a set of detailed instructions and inventory you need to deliver the session by yourself at school.

Boxes available to book are:

Other boxes are coming out soon.

The LEP, formed in 2011, is a strategic collaboration between businesses, universities and local councils which directs economic growth and drives job creation.
