Stuck Forever
Squelch, squelch, squelch. Every step I take, the disturbing noise echoes through the silence. My legs tremble as if I shouldn’t go this way, but I am fascinated by this place. The mystery of my surroundings draws me in as if I have a magnet attached to me.
Boom, boom, boom. My chest aches as if my heart is about to blast out of my skin, and I feel shivers crawling inside of me, almost as if I’ve teleported. I find myself walking into the fog. I swear to myself my house was this way. Either way, I can’t turn back. My curiosity gets the best of me.
I do it. I take the step which I’ve been contemplating doing for 5 minutes. My eyes pop out of their socket or at least it feels that way. When my body goes tense, I feel like I’ve been sucked into jelly.
Finally, I feel a little push and I stumble across this majestic area. I find myself in what seems to be a city, nothing compared to where I live. Everything around me is so lively and bright. The zooming of the train going under the bridge wafts a cool breeze to me, and the sound of laughter and music brings a smile to myself.
Suddenly my body freezes as I see the city people. What is going on? I cannot believe my eyes when I see the people have no skin, nothing, just bones as if they’re dead. It can’t be, I must be dreaming. I slapped myself but nothing happens. I look down at my hands as I have a tingling sensation running through the veins. I feel sick. I see my hands disintegrating into nothing but bones. My heart stops, my head hurts and I can’t breathe. I run as fast as I can to go back to where I entered. I shut my eyes, hoping to feel the tense again. But I don’t. I open my eyes and my heart falls to my stomach as I realise I’m stuck forever.
